Awarded for operational service in France, Belgium, Holland or Germany from 6 June 1944 to May 1945. Also in respect to Navy and Merchant Marines for service afloat in the North Sea, English Channel, and Bay of Biscay. Air crews were eligible for service over Europe from 6th June 1944 to 8 May 1945.

Applicable clasps – Atlantic (in lieu of star issue). The Air Crew Europe Star also may not be worn with the France and Germany Star. The colours of the ribbon are representative of the flags of France and Holland.

Rosette – Silver

Approximately 4,700 were issued to Australians.
