The National Medal struck in bronze was instituted in 1975 by the Australian Government in recognition of long service (15 years) by the armed forces as well as civilian services (Police, Ambulance etc). Additional clasps in bronze for further 10 year periods may be added. The National Medal supersedes all the L.S.G.C. and Efficiency and Meritorious Service Medals.
Approximately 20,000 have been issued to Australians.
Please note rosettes are available as a separate purchase.
