The General Service Medal was awarded to the Army and Air Force for the numerous operations they were involved in from 1918 that did not constitute a war as such. By 1962, 16 bars were applicable to this medal. It was replaced in 1962 as was the Naval General Service Medal with the General Service Medal 1962, which covers all the armed forces.
Approximately 4,700 were issued to Australians.
Please note bars are available as a separate purchase.
All loose ribbon available in 30cm lengths, as full size or miniature.
